The modern Auditorio de Tenerife “Adán Martín”

The Auditorio de Tenerife “Adán Martín” is located northeast of the island, in the Avenida de La Constitución of the city of Santa Cruz. It is one of the most important and modern architectural works of Tenerife, and it was designed by the artist Santiago Calatrava. In fact it is compared with the Opera House in Sydney.

After the inauguration in 2003, the auditorium has become the home of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife (Tenerife Symphony Orchestra). Also it is the main venue to host various events, fairs and festivals. The building has two rooms (the symphony and the camera room) and several outdoor terraces and a hall to enjoy the views of the sea.

As a curiosity, in 2011 it was added the name of Adán Martin to the venue, in memory of the former President of the Canary Islands.

Other artists performing in Tenerife are Mocedades (June 21st), Efecto Pasillo (June 25th), Manolo García (June 30th), Julio Iglesias (July 23rd), Melendi (July 30th), Alejandro Sanz (August 5th), Pablo López (September 23rd) and Abraham Mateo (October 14th).

You can also enjoy various festivals, such as the Arona Summer Festival (from July 22nd to 24th) or the XIV Festival Tenerife 50’s Rock & Roll (October 14th-15th).
