Roni, la mascota de Adrián Hoteles
We introduce you to Roni, the mascot of Adrian Hoteles Roca Nivaria. He will accompany our youngest guests during the fun moments of their stay, like the minidisco. He will be with us by Christmas time this year.
Roni, is a pilot whale, a very common mammal in the Canarian archipelago. Their main characteristics are their grey colour and their curved dorsal fin.
The pilot whales belong to the family of the dolphins (Delphinae) and they are mamals, this means that they live in the water, but breathe at the surface. Roni, visits the hotel Roca Nivaria every day for a few hours, so he can share his experience in the sea with all the children, play different activities with them and teach them about the importance of taking care of the ocean and environment in general.
The pilot whales generally live in a family of 15 to 20 members and they can get up to 5 metres long. Roni will spend his spare time exploring the ocean with his family, who mainly live between the islands of Tenerife and La Gomera.
Roni’s favourite activities are swimming, diving and playing with his brothers & sisters in the ocean, and of course dancing at the minidisco Belingo of the hotel Roca Nivaria. The pilot whales can immerse over 1000 metres and swim with a speed of 6 km/h, which can increase up to 45 km/h if they fill in danger. Roni is a very good swimmer, is he going to be a good dancer too?
Roni’s favourite food are calamari and fish, he can eat up to 50 kg daily. ¿Are we going to have enough at our buffet?
From Puerto Colón, Los Gigantes and Los Cristianos you can do daily boat trips for whale watching and observe the pilot whales in freedom, swimming in the ocean. It is a fun they for the whole family!
