Know all the projects and achievements of 2023 of our ADRIAN Hotels Foundation.
With the arrival of 2024, we close a wonderful year in which we have made significant achievements that we would like to share with all of you:
In the area of health, we have put our efforts into developing projects that positively impacted the most vulnerable:
1. We covered the costs of rent and supplies for a flat in Madrid for the Pequeño Valiente Children with Cancer Foundation, which provides accommodation and support for families living in the Canary Islands of children affected by cancer and who have to travel to the capital.
2. We cover the costs of rent and supplies for another flat in Madrid and one in Santa Cruz de Tenerife for the Asociación Corazón y Vida, for families of children affected by congenital cardiopathies or other similar pathologies and who have to travel to the reference hospitals in Tenerife or Madrid to receive their treatments.
3. We have purchased 6 armchairs/bed for the Paediatric Oncology Department of the University Hospital of the Canary Islands to facilitate the stay of parents of children who spend long periods of time in hospital with chronic multi-pathologies.
4. Another 10 armchairs/bed were acquired for the Oncology Department of the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria where patients with bone marrow transplants, leukaemia, lymphomas or in the terminal phase are treated. With these chairs we facilitate the stay of those accompanying these patients.
5. We have acquired a portable ultrasound scanner for the paediatric department of the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria. This scanner offers exceptional images to facilitate the early detection of diseases, monitor treatments and help decide the next steps, saving time for patients with more accurate referrals and minimising the need for costly and invasive imaging procedures.
6. We are also financing a 2-year research project at the Niño Jesús University Children’s Hospital in Madrid. It is a study of the pathogenic bases of spinal cord aplasia in the paediatric age, a rare disease whose protocols for action date back to the 1970s. The aim is to generate new knowledge to develop new ways of preventing, diagnosing and treating bone marrow aplasia in children.
7. We have collaborated with the Instituto Canario de Hemodonación y Hemoterapia (ICHH) in multiple blood and bone marrow donation campaigns during 2023.
In the educational and social fields, our actions have enabled:
8. More than 20 families with minors with special needs and economic difficulties at the Agora Centre to have financial coverage for specialised therapies in speech therapy, pedagogy, Occupational Therapy and psychology/psychotherapy, among others.
9. Earlier in the year, we funded a truck trailer to support Square Green Capital – Zero Hunger, bringing 2.5 million food rations to civilian victims of the war in Ukraine and improving the quality of life of vulnerable people.
10. In collaboration with the Make a Wish Foundation, we helped make the dream come true for Judith, a young woman who after suffering multi-organ failure just wanted to enjoy a few days’ holiday with her family at our Hotel Roca Nivaria.
We are currently raising funds for the purchase of an 18-seater minibus for the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) to facilitate the daily transfer of cancer patients from the south of Tenerife to hospitals in the north to receive treatment and consult with specialists.
Thanks to everyone who contributed this year, we have been able to fund ongoing projects and undertake new initiatives to help those who need it most.
We are excited about what the future holds and thank you for your continued confidence in our mission.
Let’s continue to build a better world together in 2024!
